What's Our Vision?
Our idea was born six years ago on Bubaque island, one of the Bijagos Archipelago, West Africa. The name NATIVE BIJAGOS reflects the intention to highlight the importance of valuing one's roots, representing a deep sense of belonging and reconnection.
The aim is to unlock the potential of the Archipelagos by developing land conservation values and exploring opportunities. The project is structured as a network of activities across different areas, each with its own focus, yet all contributing to a shared vision.
Native Bijagos is a brand which brings together accommodation, experiences and agroforestry, alongside land-based opportunities such as sustainable developments, renewable energy projects and property investments. We promote eco-tourism and models such as the creation of food forests, encouraging a balanced relationship between human and the land.
Last but not least, this project wouldn't exist without the support, help, and encouragement of friends, family, and the local community. We are truly grateful to all of you.
